Lavender Orange Hot Toddy
Hot toddies are my favorite cold weather beverage and are quite simple to create: All you need is a spicy whiskey, a squeeze of citrus, a drizzle of honey and a splash of warm water...I typically like to add an edible flower tea of some sort...like chamomile or with this recipe, lavender. It's pretty much tea with a splash of booze. The orange and lavender pairing is one of my favorites...so cozy up with this beverage on a weekend morning with a stack of magazines or a good book and you are in for a relaxing treat.Lavender Orange Hot ToddyFor each toddyIngredients:1 bag of organic lavender tea (you can also purchase organic, edible lavender in the bulk tea/spice section in many natural food stores and place about 1 tablespoon lavender flowers in a tea satchel)1/2 cup hot water2 ounces whiskeyJuice from 1 organic orange wedge + extra for garnish1 teaspoon of organic raw honeyDirections:Simply steep the tea for a few minutes.
