The Best Fruit Salad Bowl
Thinking about creating a fruit salad in the middle of winter sounds a little silly, yet the amount of glorious citrus available makes it so easy to do so. Mixed with berries, mango, apples, and edible flowers, this fruit salad mix is my favorite...it will add a burst of color to your typical morning toast or you can enjoy for lunch with a drizzle of yogurt. I hope you enjoy this simple creation and that it brings some vibrancy to a frigid, winter day...Simply prep the following ingredients:Peel + Slice:1 ripe mango1 pink grapefruit1 blood orange1 large tangerineSlice:1 handful of kumquats1 apple (I used an opal apple)Then...Place all ingredients in a bowl of your choice. Add raspberries + blackberries. Pour residual juices on the cutting board over the fruit. Garnish with edible pansies if you wish. Sprinkle with lavender sugar if you are wanting an extra treat. I also like to soak kumquats in citrus juice to tenderize the peel...give it a try!Photography + Recipe by Cassie Winslow
