Lilac Rose Margarita
The lilacs have been absolutely outrageous this year!!! I'm stocking up my pantry with all sorts of lilac goodies and one of my favorite staples is Lilac simple syrup...it is so lovely in this delicious cocktail which is full of springtime flavor. This Lilac Rose Margarita is perfect for any spring gathering or to sip on while lounging on your front porch or in your edible flower garden. The glass is rimmed with rose salt which turns this libation into a drink fit for any garden party. Enjoy!
Lilac Rose Margaritas
(Makes 2 Cocktails)Ingredients2 tbsp lilac simple syrup (recipe below)4 organic limes, juicedJuice from 1 organic grapefruitJuice from 1 organic lemon4 ounces blanco tequilaHandful of iceRose SaltDirections:Place all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir. Pour into two rose salt-rimmed tumblers of your choice filled with lots of ice. Garnish with organic lilac flowers.
Lilac Simple Syrup
Ingredients1 cup organic sugar1/2 cup filtered water3 tbsp organic lilac flowers-about 20 blooms.Directions:Place sugar, water and lilac flowers in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has completely dissolved and the mixture has thickened into syrup. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Pour into a clean, airtight container and store in the fridge.
