West Elm x Floral Libations Giveaway
I'm teaming up with West Elm for a super fun giveaway! See the lovely post on their blog here as well as below for details...Few things in life spark joy quite like a bouquet of flowers. Springtime reminds us of the natural beauty lying in wait during the winter when it explodes out of seemingly every plot of dirt and every tree branch. We use flowers to express our love, condolences or just to cheer us up. But did you know you can (sometimes) eat them too?Cassie Winslow, blogger and author of the new book Floral Libations, believes that everything in life could use a little extra dash of fun. The cookbook is a unapologetic celebration of everything Cassie loves when it comes to color, taste, and resplendence, with dramatic and inspiring arrangements on every page.Through 41 inventive recipes, Cassie reminds us that cocktail-making doesn’t have to be an exact science and there’s always room to experiment. You’ll learn how to make creative pantry staples like rose and lavender sugar, as well as how to use edible flowers to liven up your cooking. She combines unexpected flavors, like lavender gin, with classic cocktail ingredients to make daring yet accessible beverages that taste as good as they look. Each recipe in the book is paired with a bouquet alongside stunning photography by Doan Ly.So, whether you’re hosting a Mother’s Day brunch, throwing a dinner party, or if you just want to indulge in a delightfully floral gin lemonade on a sunny day, you can make these recipes your new go-tos. Check out 3 of our favorite cocktails from her book below!

Rose Petal Almond Milk
Rosy deliciousness! It’s the perfect little beverage to sip on whilst listening to records on a Sunday morning and it’s delicious warm or cold.Makes 2 beverages¼ cup (50g) Rose Petal Sugarplus extra for garnish (optional)Two Tbsp filtered water1/2 tsp rose water2 cups (480 ml) high-quality unsweetened almond milkIn a small saucepan, combine the Rose Petal Sugar, water, and rose water and cook over medium heat. Simmer until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture has thickened into a syrup, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and cool completely.Pour the rose syrup into a small carafe. Add the almond milk and stir together. Pour into 2 glasses and sprinkle with Rose Petal Sugar and dried rose petals.
Jasmine Apple Cider
This recipe has to be one of the easiest to make. You are simply making jasmine tea by steeping it in apple cider rather than water. It’s a new way to enjoy the bloom, and it’s amazing to see how this simple change can allow the bloom to sing a different tune.Makes 1 beverage1 cup (240 ml) high-quality apple ciderOne jasmine tea bagA paper-thin slice of apple for garnish (optional)In a small saucepan, warm the apple cider over medium heat until it begins to steam. Remove from the heat, add the jasmine tea bag, and allow to steep for 5 minutes. Discard the tea bag and pour the infused apple cider into a mug to garnish with the apple slice.
Lavender Lemonade with Lavender Gin
This cocktail is a delicacy to be savored at any time of year. Pleasing to the palate and the eye, I love how the lavender petals turn a pretty pink color when combined with the lemon juice.¼ (50g) Lavender Sugar2 Tbsp plus ½ cup (150 ml) filtered waterOne cup (240 ml) fresh lemon juice½ cup (120 ml) lavender gin (see note)Ice cubesUsing a small saucepan, combine the Lavender Sugar and 2 Tbsp of water and cook over medium heat.
